We purchased this chair for our son when he was 10 months old, just as he was crawling and climbing and cruising everywhere. We thought it would be a comfortable place for him to sit when we read to him ... and he could be just like daddy sitting in his leather chair. We were not disappointed. It's a foam insert with a microsuade cover. It is definitely two-toned in color (I assumed the coloring was solid - and it was just shadows in the photo - not the case). The wider bottom has ensured our son has not tipped it over while crawling on and over it. The instructions state this product is for 2+ years, but I cannot imagine our son fitting into it when he's two years old.

I put this on my son's birthday wish list for his 1st birthday and was incredibly disappointed when we received it as a gift. I have seen the chair in one of our local kids' stores and the one I saw was red just like this description states but the chair that was sent was two-toned and so we received a 1/2 red and 1/2 pink chair. While this might be a cute idea for a little girl, it's not the right thing for my son. If the company is going to create a chair that is not solid in color then they should clearly state that in the color choice as well as description. If it says red it should be red--not red & PINK! Now we have to go through the process of returning the chair and choosing another with hopes that it comes in a solid color. Other than that I think he'll enjoy it once he get's to actually use it.

For my son's first birthday I wanted to get him his own chair. I purchased this one based on the great reviews I saw on Amazon. This little chair is absolutely perfect! it's soft, there's not a hard part to it so it's super safe for kids to sit on, stand on, and play on. He loves his chair. he doesn't quite use it for reading yet but he likes to sit in it and play with it. He loves to kneel on it and fold the back cushion all the way back. I keep thinking it's going to rip off but it's pretty sturdy so far. I bought the orange color and it's really bright and cheery.
